Stanchart CEO Lamin Manjang’s career profile

Lamin Manjang was appointed as the Standard Chartered Bank’s Chief Executive Officer and Area General Manager for East Africa in January 2014.

Before then 52-year-old Lamin Manjang was the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Oman for a period of one and a half years between August .

He has over 16 years banking experience with Standard Chartered Bank across Africa and the Middle East. He has also been the CEO in Uganda and Sierra Leone and was responsible for the overall growth and development of the bank’s business in those countries.

He was also the chief finance officer and head of corporate sales at both Sierra Leone and Gambia. Mr. Manjang is originally from Gambia.

Lamin Manjang is Member of the Board Risk Committee, Member of the Board Credit Committee, Member of the Board Nomination, Evaluation and Remuneration Committee, and Chairman of the Asset and Liability Committee of the Company.

He holds a  Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in International Finance the International Islamic University Malaysia. He is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants where he scored an ACMA in Accounting in 1993.
